The City View Lady Mustangs beat the Seymour Lady Panthers and the Iowa Park Lady Hawks to open their 2018 season.  The Lady Mustangs beat the Lady Panthers 11-1 in Seymour and then blanked the Lady Hawks 11-0 in Iowa Park.

Softball: City View knocks off Rider, Burkburnett

City View continued its strong start to the 2018 season Saturday with victories over Rider and Burkburnett.

The Lady Mustangs (4-0) scored twice in the first inning against the Lady Raiders and made that lead stand up for a 2-1 victory. Maddie Chalenburg struck out six and allowed only five hits in six innings.

Chalenburg hit a grand slam to cap off City View’s eight-run first inning as the Lady Mustangs routed Burkburnett, 11-1.

The City View sophomore only allowed two hits to Burkburnett and scored the run that invoked the mercy rule in the fifth. Kori Hurd had two hits and scored two runs for the Lady Mustangs.

Burkburnett’s Jocelyn Bright entered in the second inning and struck out eight, allowing three runs in 3.1 innings of relief.

City View rolls by #5 Archer City

ARCHER CITY – The City View Lady Mustangs continued their torrid start to the season with a dominant 12-1 victory against #5 State Ranked Archer City in non-district play Monday.

Maddie Chalenburg held Archer City to just one unearned run on two hits and no walks while striking out six. Chalenburg also went 3 for 4 at the plate, scoring two runs. Whitney Zaloski had the game’s lone extra-base hit with a double, going 2 for 4 with two runs and three RBIs. Mackenzie Cave and Andrea Sapata also drove in three runs.
