GRAHAM – The City View Mustangs had their first playoff run since 2005 brought to a close Monday, falling to No. 5 Brock, 73-56.
The Mustangs struggled to score in the first half and trailed 40-15 at halftime. City View outscored Brock, 41-33 in the second half. The Mustangs finish the season 15-16.
“The heart and fight that this team showed tonight is exactly what this group was all about,” City View coach Bobby Morris said. “This isn’t how soon we wanted our season to end, but for the younger kids to see the way the upperclassmen played and fought is experience we can’t replace. The second half is hopefully a big start in the right direction of the entire program.”
Seniors Tamell Monroe and Andrew Kindrick led the Mustangs with 18 and 10 points, respectively.
Brock moves on to play either Coleman or Colorado City in the area round.
